Below are some of our most asked questions about waxing. If there are any questions you have that are not answered here, please don't hesitate to call or text us at 971-425-6108.
How long does my hair need to be to get waxed?
Your hair should be at least 1/4-inch long, about the size of a grain of rice. If this is your first time waxing, try to grow out hair for about 2-4 weeks, at least 1 1/2 weeks for underarms.

How often should I get waxed?
Typically, every 2 to 5 weeks depending on the part of your body being waxed. Everyone has different hair growth rates, and preferences on how long they are willing to wait.

The following is a general guideline we find works best:
Facial Wax 2-4 weeks Brazilian Wax 3-6 weeks (ideally, every 4-weeks)
Underarm Wax 2-3 weeks Legs and Arms Wax 3-6 weeks

Can I get a brazilian/bikini wax while on my period?
Yes, you can! As long as you have a clean tampon, cup or disk. Due to your hormone fluctuations, your skin may be more sensitive - you can take over the counter pain medication, if that is medically appropriate for you.
How should I prepare for my wax appointment?
-
Ensure that you have the appropriate amount of hair growth
-
Avoid caffeine the day of, if possible (Caffeine will make your skin more sensitive!)
-
Take an over the counter pain reliever 30-minutes before your appointment, if it's medically appropriate for you.
-
No tanning or prolonged sun exposure 42-hours before your wax.
-
Exfoliate the area to be waxed the day before your wax (and avoid exfoliation on the day of!)
-
For Facial Waxing: Avoid retinoids, AHA's, peels or acne products 7-days prior to your appointment.
What should or shouldn't I do after a wax?
For the first 24-48 hours AVOID HEAT, FRICTION AND BACTERIA. So, no exercising, tight clothing, saunas, pools, hot tubs, sun tanning or sun exposure, and avoid sexual activity after a brazilian or bikini wax.

Beginning on day 3, you can start your regular aftercare routine:
Exfoliate 3-4 times per week, and moisturize daily with the lunar body oil.
Your wax specialist can help you decide on the best exfoliation method for your hair and skin type - if we don't offer up a recommendation, please ask!
